Website Characteristics
At first I thought microsoft.com was an ineffective, but after class I realized that it was actually an effective website. One of things I thought they did very well was using the right colors and the rule of thirds in a few pictures. I also feel like they used contrast really well by contrasting white backgrounds with vibrant colors like a pink or purple. They also conveyed their information in a few words but it was clear enough that the reader knew what was going on. They also made it very easy to find the things that you were looking for because of the tabs and they also had tabs that pertained to which type of service you needed i.e. home, work, developers, etc.

I agree with you, the website seems easy to navigate, which is my biggest criteria. It could be a little prettier though :).
ReplyDeleteI agree with your reasons for why it's an effective website. I like the colorful tabs especially. It did seem a little busy though and I wasn't too wild about the black/gray/white color scheme. But I think a lot of this is personal opinion:) Overall good job!
